Two cases of the COVID-19 variant have been confirmed in Parry Sound District Saturday.
The local health unit says the cases are not associated with the Skyline-Lancelot Community Outbreak in North Bay.
As a result, the two individuals’ exposure is considered community spread.
The health unit says both individuals are currently self-isolating and all high-risk contacts have been contacted and are self-isolating.
This marks the first instance of the spread of a COVID variant in the district where we don’t know where the individual was exposed to the virus.
