A 29-year-old man faces multiple charges following reports of a disturbance in Britt-Byng Inlet on Tuesday.
West Parry Sound OPP says officers responded to a residential disturbance involving a firearm at a residence in the community located around 70 kilometers north of Parry Sound.
According to police, officers were told a person assaulted and displayed a firearm to the occupants in the residence during the incident.
As a result of further investigation, the accused was charged with the following;
- Assault (two counts)
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to probation order
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Breach of firearms regulation – store firearm or restricted weapon
- Mischief under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order (two counts)
Police say the accused remains in custody with a Parry Sound court appearance set for Thursday September 8.
