Job postings in Parry Sound in August were up when compared to July but were down year-over-year.
That from the Labour Market Group (LMG), which reports 151 job postings for the month.
“For the sixth consecutive month there was a significant decrease in the year-over-year comparison,” states the LMG August Jobs Report.
It’s down just over 35% from August last year.

However, it’s up just over 15% when compared to July.
The top five employers posting jobs included:
- Near North District School Board
- Northridge Inn and Resort
- Turtle Jacks
- Walmart-Parry Sound
- West Parry Sound Health Centre
Educational Services were the top hiring industry followed by Accommodation and Food Services with Retail Trade rounding out the top three.
