Council investing in new playground equipment

The Town of Parry Sound is investing an additional $320,000 in new playground equipment.

Booth Street Park, Cherry Street Park, Mission Park, Waubano Beach Park, and William Street Park will all see equipment upgrades this year. The funding decision was made at a 2024 capital budget meeting on Feb. 13.

According to Councillor Chris McDonald, the new playgrounds will promote accessibility, include junior and senior play structure components and outdoor fitness equipment, to create a multi-generational, age-friendly play space.

Council is slated to discuss the draft 2024 operating budget on March 26. Further 2024 budget deliberations are scheduled for April 9.
