An ‘unprecedented’ spring thaw ‘severely impacted’ roads throughout Seguin Township and resulted in a $380,000 deficit, according to a Public Works report on the June 17 council agenda.
According to Seguin’s director of public works, Tom MacLeod, an all-hands-on-deck approach was required and staff worked with over half a dozen contractors through April and May to restore roads to drivable conditions.
Staff plan to wait until year-end and hope to cover the overage through a combination of surplus, savings and reserves.
