Parry Sound to launch Downtown Quality of Experience Team

A new downtown quality of experience team is being developed in Parry Sound, after council approved a staff recommendation at a meeting on June 18.

Clayton Harris, chief administrative officer, says the team will bring representatives from multiple organizations together to coordinate resources and share experiences.

“This resolution creates a platform to coordinate resources, bring those resources together, share experience and have discussions that ultimately lead to action,” said Harris. “The problems tend to be nothing that the town can (deal with) on its own, or any one organization can (deal with) on their own, but collectively there are things that can be done. At a minimum it is communication and coordination.”

Harris says the team will include representatives from town council, the downtown businesses association, OPP, District of Parry Sound Social Services, Canadian Mental Health Association, among others.

Coun. Chris McDonald will chair the committee, which will have a goal of defining issues, developing a plan of action and assigning responsibility to implement solutions.
