The Parry Sound Fire Department is urging caution to those celebrating with fireworks this Canada Day long weekend.
Fire Chief Dave Thompson said those who chose to enjoy personal fireworks should be careful and follow all municipal guidelines.
“If you do make the choice to enjoy personal fireworks please utilize them responsibly,” he said. “Serious personal injury accidents happen every year due to fireworks misuse. Don’t become a statistic.”
Thompson said fireworks are best enjoyed at a professionally organized display.
The town’s annual fireworks show over the inner harbour is July 1 at 10 p.m.
