Hydro One warning of ongoing scams

Hydro One officials are warning residents to be cautious of ongoing scams.

Residents in the Parry Sound district have reported receiving phone calls from someone pretending to be from Hydro One threatening to disconnect power unless the customer makes an immediate payment.

This is one of many current ongoing scams, according to Hydro One officials. A full list of scams can be found at: Fraud Alerts | Hydro One

Hydro One officials say residents should never give out any personal information over the phone. If you do receive a call you believe to be suspicious. Hang up and call Hydro One back at a phone number listed on your bill or online.

Victims of fraud can report the incident to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
