Nine-year-old selling ice cream to raise funds for Parry Sound’s new pool

A local 9-year-old is selling ice cream sandwiches at Humphrey soccer nights in order to raise money for the new pool.

Arthur Mahon is participating in the ‘Let’s Make a Splash’ fundraising campaign for the West Parry Sound Recreation and Cultural Centre. All donations raised, up to $100,000 will be matched by an anonymous donor.

“I don’t want to drive an hour to Bracebridge or Huntsville to go swim,” he said, when ask why he was fundraising.

Arthur says he has already raised $250, which is half way to his goal of $500. He will be at the soccer fields in Humphrey on July 25 night from 6 to 8 p.m.
