The West Parry Sound summer snack bag program is in need of more support.
Volunteers will be at Sobeys on Aug. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. collecting donations.
Officials say apple sauce, juice, cereal and cookies are among the items needed.
The program, which launched earlier this month, provides snack bags to children in need.

Local residents Krista Holmes started the initiative after realizing just how many kids rely on food programs throughout the school year.
The program is offering four snack bag drops-offs throughout the summer, with two in July and two in August. Officials say more food is needed to ensure food can be provided everyone who has registered.
