OPP to run traffic enforcement campaign over long weekend

The OPP says detachments across the province will be participating in a traffic campaign this holiday long weekend.

Starting tomorrow until Monday, officers will be focusing on traffic moving over for emergency vehicles and tow trucks as well as the “big four”: distracted driving, impaired driving, speeding and seatbelts.

Provincial Police say heavy traffic is expected and we will see more emergency vehicles out on the roads to keep everyone safe.

They’re reminding you to slow down and move over if you see a emergency vehicle on the road or shoulder with flashing lights.

The OPP says not doing so can result in a fine up to $2000, and potentially some demerit points, too.
