Real estate listings rose in June, but sales declined

The number of listings across the Parry Sound and Muskoka region increased nearly 40 per cent in June compared to the same month last year.

That’s according to the Lakelands Association of Realtors, which says 1,324 homes were on the market in June, up from 947 listings in June 2023.

Homes sales decreased 9.3% over that same time period with 195 homes sold, compared to 215 a year prior.

“Sales of both waterfront and non-waterfront properties are trending below year-ago levels as the summer begins. Sellers are still out in large numbers, but without a resurgence in buyer activity we’re seeing a continued increase in inventories on the market,” said President of the Lakelands Association of Realtors.

The median price of homes sold was $755,000, up three per cent compared to last year.

The Lakelands North region includes Parry Sound, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Huntsville and surrounding townships.
