Construction of West Parry Sound Recreation and Cultural Centre set to begin

The physical construction of the West Parry Sound Recreation and Cultural Centre will begin the week of September 15.

That’s according to Seguin Township CAO Jason Inwood, who provided an update to the project board at a Sept. 11 meeting.

Over the past few weeks, Hall Construction crews have worked to wrap up the early site work, including grading the site, installing a retaining wall, and installing storm, water and sanitary sewer connections.

“With Ball coming onto site next week, there will be footings, foundations and before you know it, we will start to see the structure come out of the ground,” said Inwood.

Board Chair Donald Sanderson is excited to see the project progressing after a busy summer.

“We are very pleased with the level of efficiency and productivity we’ve seen to date,” said Sanderson. “Anyone with experience building on the Canadian Shield can attest that this type of work demands extraordinary problem solving and teamwork. We are proud of how our project leads came together to get to this stage.”

More information on the project can be found at www.letsmakeasplash.ca.
