A development charges bylaw was unanimously approved by Seguin Township council on Oct. 7.
It comes after two years of studies, consultations and conversations.
Mayor Ann MacDairmid says the “very comprehensive” bylaw is a “big step forward for the township.”
As of January 1, 2025, development charges will be levied to help fund capital projects related to growth.
Affordable and non-profit housing will be exempt from charges, and rental housing will receive a discounted rate.
