A section of Parry Sound Drive will be renamed Connor Drive, in honour of Bill Connor, president of Connor Industries.
The company, which produces Stanley custom welded aluminum boats, has agreed to pay $50,000 to rename the stretch of Parry Sound Drive from Joseph Street and Mall Drive to Highway 400.
A portion of the funds will be used to cover signage costs associated with the name change. The rest will be donated to the West Parry Sound Recreation and Cultural Centre project.
The name change comes as town officials say having two exits off Highway 400 with the same name can cause confusion.
