The Parry Sound Salvation Army says the ongoing Canada Post strike is impacting their end-of-year giving campaign.
The local charitable organization raises thousands of dollars every year to help those in need, and Lieutenant Kyren Newbury says many donations come through their holiday letter campaign. They also rely on the Christmas Kettle campaign to help generate funds.
“All of the money that come in through the Kettles and Letter Campaign help us to run all of our programming through the year,” he said. “Our work with the homeless, the food bank, anything that we can do to help families and the community comes in through our Kettles and our Christmas campaign.”
Kettles are set up throughout Parry Sound at Walmart, Sobey’s, No Frills and the LCBO. They will remain their until Christmas Eve.
Donations can also be made over the phone (705-746-4126), or in person at the Salvation Army Rainbow Coventry Church at 61 Gibson Street in Parry Sound.
