Radiothon raises $21,000 for Parry Sound Salvation Army

Friday’s radiothon raised 21 thousand dollars for the Parry Sound Salvation Army.

Leiutenant Kyron Newbury was thrilled with the community support, as donations poured in over the course of the 12-hour fundraiser.

Newbury says the funds will go to support all of the programs the Salvation Army offers, including the Christmas Hampers, food bank and various resources to support residents in need.

“Our Christmas campaign is our main fundraiser for the year,” he said. “All of the money that comes in through the kettles, the radiothon, help us to run all of our programming through the year. Our work with the homeless, the foodbank, and support for anything we can do to help families in the community comes in through our Christmas campaign.”
