The West Parry Sound Health Centre needs your help.
Officials say a special incubator, which provides essential phototherapy to treat jaundice in newborns, has almost reached its end of life.
“Right now the incubator we have is quite old and the company that manufactures it has told us that it is no longer repairable,” said Deborah Loosemore, chief executive officer of the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation. “So while it is still working fine, the risk is if something happens to it a baby could need the treatment and the incubator could not be working. So we need to have a new one purchased as soon as possible to replace this incubator.”
Loosemore say the hospital foundation has launched a fundraiser and is looking to raise $70,000 to purchase a new incubator.
