The number of measles cases in the North Bay Parry Sound District has reached double digits.
The Health Unit says the local case count has jumped from five to 11 – as of March 21.
Officials say there is no evidence of the virus spreading throughout the region, and no locations have been identified where the public could have been exposed.
Across Ontario, there have now been 470 cases confirmed since the outbreak began last October. Of those, 120 have been reported in the last week.
Officials say most of those who’ve contracted the highly-contagious virus across the province have been unvaccinated.
