Royal Canadian Air Cadets hosting month-long food drive

Local air cadets with 295 MacPherson Squadron are hosting a food drive in partnership with Harvest Share food bank.

Squadron officials say the cadets have recognized the ongoing need for food assistance in the Parry Sound area, and decided to take action.

“The cadets are learning valuable lessons about community service and the importance of giving back through this initiative,” said commanding officer David Coles.

The food drive will run from April 1 to May 1. Food can be dropped off at Georgian Bay Software can be dropped (42 Gibson Street) from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday, and at 295 Squadron headquarters (74 Jame Street) on Tuesday’s from 7 to 9 pm.

Donations of non-perishable food items, specifically canned goods such as soups, vegetables, stews and pastas, are greatly appreciated.
Collected items will be dropped off at Harvest Share on May 2.
