CORRECTION: We erroneously said the MacFarlane Street transfer station would begin its summer hours of operation on April 10. That is incorrect. Summer hours will begin April 21. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
Town of Parry Sound officials are asking residents to hold on to any branches or brush they’ve cleaned up from this past weekend’s ice storm.
Director of Public Works Mike Kearns says the area at the landfill reserved for brush is still very soft and not yet ready to accept debris.
“We don’t want to make more work, or cause further damage in areas where it is soft to start with,” he said. “So as long as it is not hazardous on the boulevard or on the private property, I would certainly suggest waiting until winter lets go and we start to dry up. It would be advantageous for everybody.”
The MacFarlane street transfer station will begin its summer hours as of April 21.
It’ll be open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sundays from 12:00 to 5:30 p.m..
