The Parry Sound Area Founders Circle presented its annual Founders Choice Awards at a gala on April 10.
Sound Yarn & Fibre won the top prize of $10, 000, and Harbour Hot Sauce won the secondary prize of $5,000.
“As a founding member of the Founders Circle, I have been consistently impressed by the remarkable number of entrepreneurs within our community and the high caliber of the business proposals they present,” says Founder, Clayton Harris.
The Parry Sound Area Founders Circle is made up of community leaders, entrepreneurs, and business leaders who have invested funds as prizes to be awarded to individuals or groups with innovative ideas that will help improve the local economy.
Six semi-finalists were chosen for the awards, including I Like to Move it Movers, New Wave Fishing Academy, Oli’s Parry Sound Fishing Charters and Smart Fitness Studio.
Applications were evaluated using five criteria, including broad economic impact, innovation and growth potential.
“Being a part of the process this year and witnessing the growth in confidence and communication in the finalists has been an incredible experience,” said Founder Tara Charlton. “The Parry Sound small business community is full of support and enthusiasm, and it makes me proud to be a part of it.”
The deadline to submit an application for next years awards is Oct 31, 2025.
