More details have been released in the death of an 18-year-old woman on Highway 69. West Parry Sound OPP say Shannon Lacosse of Laird Township was not wearing a seatbelt on November 9th when she was involved in a rollover on the northbound highway after the car hit a deer. Four other females in the car were treated and release from West Parry Sound Health Centre. The 60-year-old driver won’t be charged as Staff Sergeant Ron Campbell says that night was dark and raining and the driver took evasive action after hitting the deer.
