Following 12 weeks of trial, Todd Howley has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Paul Maasland.
The 53-year-old Oakville resident had originally pleaded not guilty back in January.
According to The Toronto Star, Maasland’s body was discovered at a boat launch on Spencer Lake in Bracebridge on August 30th, 2010.
The news organization reported that Howley was arrested by the FBI in Georgia on May 10, 2011.
Sentencing is expected to take place on Tuesday, at the Bracebridge Court House.
A first-degree murder charge comes with a mandatory life sentence, which is 25 years.
