Canadore College President pleased with federal budget

Canadore College is very pleased with the latest Federal Budget.  College President George Burton says the budget released this week shows the government is taking steps to improve apprenticeship programs and targeted college-specific research programs.  Burton goes on to say that the most positive and meaningful aspect of the budget process is the long overdue additional funding for Aboriginal students.  Apprenticeship and skills training initiatives are also being expanded with a new Canada Apprentice Loan, a pilot program for flexibility and innovation, a youth employment strategy and relaxed student loan criteria.
