OPP in Parry Sound is reminding residents to think about security when closing up your cottage for the winter

If you want to keep your cottage safe from theft this winter, the OPP is sending out a few tips to help.

Before you shut down your cottage or summer home after Thanksgiving, make sure to bring all valuables home with you.  If you leave anything behind that is expensive or valuable, make sure to write down the serial numbers.  Secure all vehicles you’re leaving behind such as ATVs or boats and never leave them on a trailer.  Keep windows secured and curtains shut so no one can see inside your home.  Most importantly, never leave a weapon of any kind behind.
