Parry Sound will be getting a new condo development.
Town Council, at its meeting Tuesday night, voted in favour of selling the surplus property on Salt Dock Rd, currently owned by the town of Parry Sound.
The two acre property, consisting of an old rail spur line and a vacant lot was made available by the town through a request for proposal process.
Greystone Project Management was awarded the property for an offer of $220,000 based on their proposed condo development.
Council also considered proposals from local developer John Jacklin and Parry Sound Condo Corp #2. Members of Condo Corp attended the meeting in numbers, packing the council chambers in support of their representative, Roger Alexander.
Members of the group are also board members of Beaconview Condominiums.
Greystone, builders of Granite Harbour Condominiums in Parry Sound, are proposing a two-phase project, the first building housing 42 units and a second phase featuring an additional 22 units.
