The Ontario government is investing $26 million towards downtown revitalization in rural communities.
The province says The Main Street Revitalization Initiative announced Tuesday in Toronto, will help attract investment and tourism to local downtowns in turn helping small business.
Parry Sound is eligible for up to $41,000 under the plan.
Downtown Business Association Executive Director Susan Hyrcyna says that money would greatly impact the DBA’s budget.
Municipalities in the Parry Sound district could see as much as $475,000 with the initiative.
