In the GMHL the 2018-19 season for the Almaguin Spartans came to an end on Tuesday with a heartbreaking 2-1 shoot-out loss to New Tecumseth losing the 3 game series 2 games to one.
On the bright side Defenseman Ildan Gazimov was selected as the North Division Rookie of the Year and Forward Zach Thorsen, the team’s leading scorer this season was runner-up as Top Defensive Forward.
