West Parry Sound OPP Arrest And Charge Man With Impaired Driving

A man has been charged with impaired driving following a general patrol by West Parry Sound OPP.

On Saturday, around 1 a.m., police say they stopped a vehicle during a general patrol in Henvey Inlet First Nation, to ascertain the sobriety of the driver.

After speaking with the driver, officers determined alcohol had been consumed and the driver was transported to the West Parry Sound OPP detachment for further testing.

Upon further investigation, police charged a 45-year old man from Henvey Inlet First Nation with two counts of operating a vehicle while impaired, one count of uttering threats, and one count of driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on July 2nd.

He has also been issued a 90-day license suspension as well as a 7-day vehicle impoundment.
