Fire danger rating change

PARRY SOUND, ON-The Fire Danger Rating for the West Parry Sound region has lowered to high. 

McDougall Fire Chief Brian Leduc confirmed that during this period between now and July 15th, this danger rating applies for Archipelago, Carling, McDougall, McKellar, Parry Sound, Seguin, and Whitestone and the total fire ban has been lifted. 

Residents will be able to set up campfires, but fire permits, fireworks and daytime burning are still prohibited. 

Meanwhile, the total fire ban and extreme fire danger rating remains in effect for Britt and the Henvey Inlet First Nation areas. 

Before you start any fire, visit your local municipalities’ website to determine what is allowed in your area.
