Today, the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit reported six new cases of COVID-19, as well as seven more recoveries in the region.
Three individuals tested positive in the Parry Sound district and three in the Nipissing district, bringing the total number of active cases in the region to nine.
Five of the new cases were between the ages of 20 to 39 and one was between the ages of 40 to 59.
Three cases contracted the virus through a close contact with a positive case, two through community transmission, and one was through travel.
All six are now self-isolating.
This brings the total number of positive COVID-19 cases reported in the Parry Sound Nipissing District to 132, 122 of which are resolved.
