The council of the Municipality of Whitestone has named Bill Church the 2024 recipient of the Order of Whitestone.
Church dedicated 14 years to public service, serving as both Reeve and Mayor.
As a member of the Whitestone Lake Road Association, he championed pollution control initiatives, including a lakefront septic testing program.
He is also a a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion: Dunchurch-Magnetawan Branch.
The Order of the Municipality of Whitestone is awarded to a deserving person who has enriched the lives of others in the community.
