New shopper’s docks are be installed at the Parry Sound waterfront, and the public washrooms will be renovated.
Council approved the projects, at a total cost of around $235 thousand dollars, at a meeting on March 4.
An 80-foot dock, with at least eight slips, will be installed near the parkette on McIssac Way, at a cost of $85,000.
Council also asked staff to investigate the installation of new lighting, signage and security cameras in the area. Staff will have conversations with consultants hired to undertake a waterfront master plan about these topics.
Residents will have an opportunity to provide input on the future of the waterfront at a public open house on March 19.
A draft of the waterfront master plan will be presented and discussed at the Stockey Centre from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
